GCOM Student Accepted into Juried Show at the de Young in SF

GCOM student Anna Fowler's project, titled "Indestructable" from a Fall 2011 GCOM class was accepted into a juried showcase of multidisciplinary work at the prestigious de Young Museum in San Francisco.

The show is called Matter! and it opens on April 20th at 6pm in the Koret Auditorium, Wilsey Court, and the Piazzoni Mural Room at the de Young in SF. Ms. Fowler's project is a digitally illustrated "instructable" on basic sewing techniques.

California State Fair-Entry Level Graphic Designer

The California State Fair Exhibit Crew has an opening for a graphic designer. This is a full-time seasonal position from mid-May through mid-July and pays $10.50 per hour.
 
Under supervision, the graphic designer will create text panels, banners, graphics for interactive games and all other graphic needs while working closely with the exhibit designer and curator to create an overall visual theme for the exhibits.
 
This position requires someone with experience who is organized, self-motivated, flexible, has the ability to meet deadlines, and is proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design. Applicant should have good communication skills and be able to work in a team environment. Applicant should be familiar with working on a large format printer.
